today i went to a location in bromley where i took pictures of a friend for my double page spread
i really liked the photos because they came out really nice and clear and my friend portrayed the correct personality needed for this.

today i went into the green room and took about 10 photos of my chosen model and i got him to pose like the poses i researched
i would say that the photos turned out well as he captured the persona i wanted him to have. for the digital drafts i scanned my drawn drafts onto my computer and then re created them on photoshop
i feel like mine turned out really good In this week I created my drawn drafts for my front cover and my double page spread. For my front cover I decided to have two options the first one is a front cover with the main image taking up the page but cover lines along the sides and the mast head saying enlighten with a lightning bolt where the I is. The other is in a kind of vinyl record style with the main image of the person I'm photographing on the vinyl. The double page spread is quite cool but hard to explain so I will try and insert a picture of it below.
In this week I typed up my article for my double page spread and I chose to make a friend the person the article is on, so I added a pull quote and an interview as extra elements to make my double spread look legit.
www: i would say that with this article i captured the type of R&B artist my friend would be and I feel like that is what i want my artist to be like. In this week I made typography boards for the individual element included on magazines(front cover and double spread) like the masthead, cover lines, pull quote etc. I would say I really enjoyed this because I got to research the different styles used for these examples and inspired some ideas for my magazine cover.
In this week I created an audience profile for one male and one female who would be interested in my genre of music, so what I did was I gave the person a name, age, ethnic background, an occupation, likes and dislikes. Then I gave them hobbies and interests, their preference of clothing and fashion and their musical interests.
In this week i picked out 4 poses and 4 costume types commonly seen in R'nB artists.
The 4 poses in went with were: the side on shot , the cute couple shot, the black and white shot and the hand poses. The 4 costume choices i chose were: braids/dreads/twists, facial hair, big/long curly hair and chains. In this week i wanted to establish what genre of music i will be working on, so I chose R'n'B, i chose this genre because i grew up on this type of music with my mum being a huge fan of artists like Tina Turner and Lauryn Hill, this is the genre of music i know and love so i have a passion for it. In this brief i mentioned information about the origin of the genre of music and other genres that are derived from it.
in this week I put digital magazines and print magazines head to head to truly see which one is better, so to do this i had to weigh the pros and cons for both print and digital magazines, for this to make the argument more reliable i added stats from other sources that back up the point i made and then I came to a conclusion which was the print magazines are less able to get to their target audience making it a less viable option for business.
