In this week i did something similar to last week but this week i found two new front covers and double pages and i analysed them, when analysing i looked at the denotation, Mise-En-Scene, Typography and the Target Audience doing this allowed me to go in more depth when writing as this format allows me to solely focus on a single part which caused me to produce better writing and understanding of the Textual Analysis.

In this week I created conventions diagrams that highlights all the conventions that you would see on a magazine front cover and a double page spread. For this I used photoshop to create it but I needed to find the correct terms to describe the different conventions so i researched this and found examples two front covers and two double page spreads.
In this week we learnt about the definition used for magazines. in this week we also created magazine genre profiles but before we did this we found out what the differences are between PRINT & DIGITAL magazines to do this we did some research on the internet to find out these differences, so after we did that we then proceeded to create magazine genre profiles where we researched different magazine genres and created a brief about their target audiences, age demographic and whether the magazine is made to inform or promote. The genres i went through are Movies/TV, Food, Fashion, Sports and a Gamer one. WWW: I would say that i understood the what the different genres of magazines are and how it is marketed.
EBI: I got like a first hand experience of the working process. in this first week i learnt about the definition of a genre and the different types of genres their are, and how many different forms of entertainment use the system of genres to differentiate between different aspects of the area of entertainment. when i was taught about this i then chose to find my own definition of a genre and to identify the different genres in Music, Art, Movies & TV. WWW: i got a good understanding of what a genre is and enjoyed learning about the different genres.
EBI: Don't have one for this week. |
